Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning to go house hunting in the UK.
The pair moved to California back in 2020 after stepping down from their roles as senior members of the royal family.
However, after just three years away, they could be set to make a surprising return to the country they turned their backs on.
According to an unnamed source that spoke with OK! Magazine, the decision to make a return to England has come mostly from Harry.
The royal is believed to be putting his foot down and insisting on trying to rebuild his life in his home country, despite Meghan’s preference to remain in America.
“There is a divide between the couple on this issue but they will soon start looking for a property of their own near London, and Harry is very much leading this,” said the source.
The pair are believed to be planning not to ask King Charles for his help, despite recent claims that the monarch hopes to “reunite” with the pair.
“They won’t be asking the King for a property on the royal estate due to the issue that arose with Frogmore Cottage. Making use of a small apartment in Kensington Palace from time to time isn’t out of the question, but when it comes to a home in the UK, they will purchase that themselves,” added the source.
Meanwhile, despite the huge rift sparked by their decision to leave the royal family in 2020, Dr Ed Owens, author of After Elizabeth: Can the Monarchy Save Itself?, has claimed that Charles wants the pair back in the fold.

He told GB News: “He is demonstrating he is ready to reconcile and that ultimately, the onus is on them to make a decision as to whether they want to heal the wounds that have opened up between them and the rest of the royal family.
“The King has done that quite successfully so far. He’s held the moral high ground, he’s presented himself as a conciliator. That is the best way to maintain his reputation as a public figure.”
He added: “The most important thing here is how he is viewed by his own public. The King obviously wants to maintain a positive reputation with the British people. In that respect, the easiest solution is for him to try and maintain and keep hold of the moral high ground. So far, he’s done that. He’s done that by making it clear, sometimes through back channels.”
