Fans of bodybuilding were recently treated to the latest edition of Mr. Olympia, with a new winner being crowned in 2023.
Whilst bodybuilding may not be one of the most popular undertakings in the world, it is hard not find someone who doesn't marvel at seeing images of those who are at the very top of the profession.
Those who take part in Mr. Olympia certainly are at the top of the profession and, this time, it was American Derek Lunsford who won the biggest prize, much to the anger of one of his competitors.
Iranian Hadi Choopan took second and was unable to defend his crown, but he clearly felt that he should have been the winner as he walked off the stage once it was clear that he had not retained his place among Mr. Olympia winners.
Who are the greatest Mr. Olympia winners of all time?
The record number of wins is eight and that has been achieved by two men, Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman.
The biggest name to have ever been involved with the competition is certainly that of Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Austrian movie star and politician is one of the former winners.
He has got seven victories to his name which makes him one of the most competitive people in the history of the sport.
The first competition was held back in 1965 and since then, there has been a host of different Mr. Olympia winners and many repeat winners.
With Lunsford now joining that list, a new man has been named Mr. Olympia for 2023.
